My morning routine consists of whipping up a cappuccino, showering, brushing my teeth, and spritzing a bit of tincture under my tongue. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the term “tincture”, it’s simply a liquid oral solution used for medicinal purposes. I’ve been using Divine Element’s MIST for about two months now, and can’t possibly imagine not having it daily. Not only does the tincture help me to manage stress and anxiety (caused by day-to-day deadlines, responsibilities, and obligations), but it’s also reassuring to know that what’s going into my body is plant-based, holistic, and untainted by pharmaceutical chemicals.
CBD is the core ingredient of Divine Elements products. However, my love for this product goes beyond the benefits of CBD. As a company, they’ve gone even further to create a bountiful blend of oils and extracts in order to maximize the health benefits of the MIST. Aside from CBD, there are a few ingredients of the tincture that I’d like to highlight: Apricot Kernel Oil, Fo-Ti extract, Moringa extract, Bacopa extract, and St John’s Wort extract—all of which offer unique healing properties.
Apricot Kernel Oil – It’s been proven that Apricot Kernel Oil (AKO) can provide immune support (1), which means it is helpful for patients undergoing chemotherapy, experiencing immunosuppression, or other degenerative diseases (1). Additionally, AKO can assist individuals who are recovering from surgery, physical stress, exercise, and feeling the effects of aging in general (1). In folk medicine and traditional Chinese medicine, AKO is used to treat tumors and ulcers (1). It is also prescribed for asthma, cough and constipation because it offers dietary protein, along with significant amounts of oil and fiber (2). To top it off, AKO is high in antioxidants and functions as an antibacterial (2).
Fo-Ti Extract – Fo-Ti is an herb traditionally used in ancient Chinese medicine. The medicinal properties come from the root of the plant. Research suggests that Fo-Ti is helpful for liver and kidney problems, along with high cholesterol, and dizziness. Fo-Ti is also good for those who have a hard time sleeping and/or insomnia. This miraculous root may also alleviate soreness in the lower back and knees. Another quirky property of this herb is that it can be used for premature graying (3).
Moringa Extract – Among many indigenous populations, Moringa is known as “the miracle tree” because of its immaculate healing abilities for various ailments and even some chronic diseases (4). Scientific research and studies have proven that Moringa contains many essential nutrients, such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids, beta-carotene, antioxidants, anti-inflammatory nutrients, and omega 3 and 6 fatty acids (4). Additionally, Moringa extract is known to have antifibrotic, antimicrobial, anti-tumor and anti-cancer properties (4). Because of these nearly magical qualities, Moringa’s positive effects on the immune system offer the potential to fight a range of diseases. From HIV/AIDS to sexually transmitted infections—Moringa is also an effective
remedy for hypertension, diabetes and high blood pressure. Even those suffering from Alzheimer’s can find relief when using Moringa as a natural medicine (5).
Bacopa Extract – While research on Bacopa is fairly new, some evidence suggests that Bacopa enhances memory (6). Current research also demonstrates that consistently using Bacopa results in cognitive benefits, and as a remedy, has anxiolytic capabilities (7). Simply put, it’s good for the brain and anxiety. A recent study reported by James Kean et al. proved that Bacopa improves attention, cognition, intelligence, and behavior—particularly in children and adolescents. These results suggest that Bacopa is not only safe for children, but is a potential option for symptoms associated with childhood mental health disorders, such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) (7).
St John’s Wort – Recent studies indicate that St John’s Wort can be beneficial for patients with mild-to-moderate depression (8). In combination with CBD, St John’s Wort has the potential to act as an antidepressant and stimulate a healthy balance of serotonin.
Modern science and technology allows us to extract the most beneficial properties of these plants and roots in order to promote and practice a holistic, balanced approach to medicine. The pure chemistry of this tincture is designed to uphold physical and mental wellbeing. Not only does this combination of ingredients boost immunity, act as an anti-inflammatory, and potentially alleviate various chronic illnesses, but it also promotes cognitive health. As a unified whole, the tincture may work to improve memory, relieve anxiety, and benefit those suffering from mild-to-moderate depression. My point is that this tincture takes into account that the body and mind must be well together. Divine Elements MIST is quite impressive—it utilizes modern technologies to maximize ancient remedies.
